I can’t believe this is the sixth instalment in my university life bog diary thingy! I think, after this one, there will be one more this academic year and then summer starts! You guys have loved my little jottings about university and how honest I’ve been and I really appreciate every word you read!
A lot has changed since the last time I sat and talked to you guys on here so I’m not really sure where to start. Well, a major change is that I finally got a job! I am so happy that I finally have a source of income so I can go out and spend a little bit of money on myself without feeling too guilty about it. The job is working in a café making coffees and all that jazz. I’ve only just started but I am enjoying it so much and the people I’m working with are great thank you for all your good luck messages the other day!
Another major thing that happened was that I GOT A FIRST! I recently got back my essays and in one of them I finally got that first I’ve been craving. Coursework essays have always been my academic struggle due to the fact that I doubt myself WAY too much. I chop and change things when I read them back and I usually lose my first instinct as to what to write and it becomes a bit of a mess. I’m much better in exam settings because I can’t doubt myself and I have a finite amount of time. The other essays I’ve done have been really close but I’m so glad that I finally made it. I just hope that I can match how well I did in my Semester One exams this time round.
I’m surprised, really, that I managed to get anywhere near a first considering how much the university lecturer strikes affected my timetable. It was a real inconvenience and I definable feel students should be reimbursed for us missing a hefty chunk of education. At the end of the day, we’re paying for a service that we were not provided and that isn’t fair. Yet, it kind of motivated me to be more conscious of how much work I was doing and up my game a little bit.
Things are back on track now and I’m realising how bloody close exams are. I worked really hard on my essays (if you follow me on Instagram you’d have seen how much I was in the library) but now I’m going to have work even harder if I want to do well in my exams. Summer is drawing ever closer and I can’t wait to start up a tonne of new online projects in summer because I’ll have a lot of free time. I have experimented with YouTube early this year which is something that I really want to start getting involved with. I love talking to you guys through message but I think video is such a live and interactive method of sharing what I want to share but it’s such a daunting feeling wanting to commit completely to a YouTube channel!
Thank you so much for reading guys! Let me know how your academic life is progressing! Make sure you follow me on Instagram as well for my day to day life!
I figured I’d used flowers as my featured photo again because I am sat in a café with the sun shining writing this.
